June 2010:
Pups has arrived - Mouse gave birth to 8 puppies last week. They are all very healthy and looking fine. It all lasted for only 3 hours, and even it is her first time, she seems very experienced. But Siberians are generally very healthy dogs and out of all the litters I had in the kennel, there was never any problems.
We are busy at the kennel as well as on the Camp Dannevall. The Dannevall Sled is finished and a few has been sold already!
The House at the Camp is still under construction but will be the finest house in Europe!
My House in Lundsjön is for sale, you can find it on hemnet.se
I still work full time for ALMI, running the Camp and my own company as well as spending many hours with the dogs everyday. So I removed the TV out of my life :-) and listen to the news when I go for my runs, inorder to kept updated on whats outside my world.
Life at the Camp is doing me good. But time is not something I have to much of. First comes the dogs, then the job and the Camp, My own training and then Friends and Family. So updating websites and such.....comes very last I am affraid.
I try to keep you updated also via www.dannevall.com and on the dannevall profile on Facebook.
See you here and there. Have a fantastic Summer - lets get that over with- so we can welcome the winter!

2010
I made a very long update, with nice pictures and all....but I lost it in space, for some reason. This CMS system can only handle, that you are updating and done within 60 minutes. I sat and worked and worked on a nice update for nearly 2 hours, and gone it was suddently. Grrrrr!!!!
Anyways, here's the short version for now:
Finish pups run very nice
The danish pups after Petruschka's Kevin & Petruschka's Beaver also run as they already were adults! (they run 2,5km now twice, and they are only 6 months old)
We have had a very cold december, and we will have an even colder January. Before X-mas the temperatures was okay, but unusual cold for that month. About 20-28 below. But these past days has been very bad cold-wise, as we do NOT train dogs in minus 38.
Next weekend we will join the "New Nordic Open" in Ċsarna. We will join with two teams, but make this race as a training only, as it is to early in the season to really race dogs. They need the car training, the being away from home training, and we want to test our new stake-out system round the truck and other stuff also.
Also the dogs wont have so good conditions for doing a race just now, as this past week have been to cold for training at all. Just playing in the playground.....Ohh well, it's only January :-)
The dannevall Sledge is now finally ON THE MARKET! Have a closer look at it at the Dannevall.com Site.
Internet is coming to us in Lċngan soon. About February 1st they say. Untill now we have no connection out at all. But boy am I looking forward to get one. Running 3 companies without internet IS NOT EASY!
Lots of guests on the Camp this year. Fun it will be.
Also guests in my Lundsjön House - great for the dogpeople who decided to come. They will get a huge house, a huge playground and kennels for all their dogs, and a wonderful trail!
Well i better save this update now, before it vanishes!
Till next update, stay warm out there!
November 11th
There is still no snow however, the prognos is that it will come soon (Saturday). We cross our fingers for that. We want to increase the distance to 18km, but would like just a few cm of snow to pretect the feet. It is tuff on the back, to put booties on 20 dogs, and they last only 8km anyway, before they wear out.
The puppies from Denamark (after Petruschka's Kevin and Petruschka's Beaver) are not yet harness broken (they are only 5 months old and have no hurry). We are looking forward to it though, as they seem very very eager to move......forward in every way :-)
We are training 2 teams now, and the pups from Finland are only training twice a week, as they seem to want more time to adjust to it all. They are apparently a bit slow in developement, but very much fun and they are very loved by us and the rest of the pack.
This season we are looking at SM Open, Nordic Open in Ċsarna, competition in Särna and then the WC in Germany. That however depends wether the dogs have their peak just then or not.
October 17th.
Difficult to be demotivated, when the dogs are in such good shape. They all eat, they are fresh and happy. Running good. Snow came the other day, but went away again. Soon.....it will be back.
October 6th.
Training started a while ago, and soon the distance will be 11 km. The first snow came on Sunday, however it disappeared again the same night. They say the snow must show 3 times and go away 3 times, before it stays. Tonight the snowfall nr 2 will come, and so I just wait for the third time :-)
The puppies from Finland are in Harness, and it is so fun to see how they develope.
September 17th
It is a pleasure to have puppies and youngsters. Not only the "Finish pirates" pups are new in the kennel, but the "Danish aligators" arrived a few weeks ago, or should I say I picked them up at kennel Cassidy's. I have not yet loaded my pictures to the PC, which is why there are not yet anything for you to look at. However I will get to it soon!
August 7th.
Just returned after 3 days hiking in the mountains. What a wonderful experience. While I was gone, 3 bitches came into heat. Nice that they will get it over with before we start training. Right now we have 27 degrees if not more....and to be honnest, that is not the kind of weather I like!
Still building our house (that will be an ongoing project for some time), and I still have vaccation :-) Getting soooo much done, and dogs like to hear me in the near, pusseling with things, while lying in the shade.
Maja and Jocke are getting bigger of course. But also developing a nice personality. They make us laugh a lot. They have this thing, that they absolutely must take out all straw out of their dog house. Holly watches them doing it, as she is thinking "ohhh boy mommy will be sad when she sees this".
August 1st 2009:
Emil Saabye was her for one full week, to help out building our new house. He also finished the roofs on the kennels, meaning that 7 out of 14 kennels now have net over the part that before was open. Now the vlimbers wont climp over anymore. Not that they did, but I know that they can- so we now prevented them from doing it. Saftey saftey saftey!
Emil will be back he sais. We had some trips on the lake in our kayaks, went to the mountains for a walk, and did some sightseeing elsewhere also. He liked it here, and we appreciate his help alot.
July 29th 2009:
Soon time for the yearly rabies and canlan vaccinations. Vet will come to us and do so next week. And after a week or two, we will get ready for training the dogs again. The only sport they get from may 1st till august 15th is 1-1½ hours in the playarea every day. This keeps the muscles on them, and the social issue is also so important to keep in balance. So great to have all 25 dogs out together.
July 17th 2009:
Petruschka Site was not active for over a year now. The reason for this was the lack of time.
We have built a new Kennel at Camp Dannevall, and this has taken all time, next to my full time job and my 2 companies!
But this new site will be much easier for me to update, so stay tuned for news....

April 17th 2009:
We picked up 2 new puppies from Finland in April. They are from Joonas's kennel Kuurametsän. You can see pictures of them in the "dogs" area. 1 Female and 1 male. They are very active and very happy puppies. Cant wait to see them in harness in Septeber.
March 2009
The season was tottaly ruined by a virus all the dogs caught sometime during the beginning of February 2008. They did not get rid of it before late May this year, meaning they were sick in total for more than 15 months! The veterinarians I have consulted (in Sweden and France and Finland) have no clue of what it was, only that they were not well. Did not eat or drink much - well just enough to stay alive. Kept on getting an eye infection real bad. That they responded to the training we did with them is fantastic. They seemed happy, but without power. Absolutely NO power in them. So only 2 competitions during that season, and only one team! Most likely they would have been better off staying at home, but since I just let them run in their own pace, and not demanded anything from them, I figured they would not suffer anything from going. But I have not seen my dogs perform so bad in the past. I hope the virus is now gone forever, or that they atleast have become imune. If anyone have had same symptoms as described above, pls be in contact. So far I found 3 kennels. 2 in Germany and one in Finland (whom I have not yet spoken to) |
